More Information about Executive Health Assessments
Our Executive Health Assessment provides you the opportunity to have an extensive medical review to assess your general health. This allows you the opportunity to become aware of the conditions you may be at risk of and to put changes in place that will help prevent these problems. It also allows for early detection of medical concerns which you have but might not yet know about. In this way these problems can be managed to avoid any consequences. You will receive a full report discussing your entire assessment with our recommendations. You will also have a 15 minute follow up with your doctor 3 to 6 months after the assessment to review any areas of concerns. Extra tests done at this follow up will be charged separately.
The basic Executive Health Assessment is based around a 60 minute consultation with a doctor, and includes:
- A review of your personal medical history guided by a questionnaire which you will have completed at your appointment.
- Measurement of your blood pressure, pulse, weight, height and Body Mass Index.
- Measurement of your Peak Expiratory Flow Rate and Lung Functions. The latter will be reviewed by a consultant and a full report with an analysis of your lung functions will be sent to you.
- A resting Electrocardiogram (ECG). This will be reviewed by a consultant who will return a report describing various aspects relating to your heart and advise if further assessment is needed. An exercise ECG can be included on request for an additional £75.
- A basic audiogram to allow detection of possible hearing abnormalities.
- A full general clinical examination focusing on any special areas of concern.
- Blood tests including full blood count, liver function tests, kidney function tests, iron stores, glucose level and lipid (cholesterol) profile. Where indicated, a cervical smear test is included for women, and a PSA test for men over 45 years of age.
- A urine sample to tests for the presence of urinary infections, blood and glucose.
The basic assessment costs £399. Optional additions (at extra cost) for women include:
- Human Papilloma Virus testing on smear test sample (£60). HPV is also known as the "Genital Wart Virus" and is the virus linked to cervical cancer.
- High Vaginal Swab (£40), usually undertaken for investigation of vaginal discharge.
- Choice of two sexual health screens. Profile 1 (£90) includes a high vaginal swab and specific tests for Chlamydia, Herpex Simplex and Syphilis. Profile 2 (£130) includes all the tests in Profile 1 plus tests for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C.
- Pelvic Ultrasound (£115).
- Ovarian Cancer Screening (£200). This includes a pelvic ultrasound and a blood test for CA125, a tumour marker specific to ovarian cancer.
- Mammogram (£105 paid directly to the hospital). We will refer you to a radiology department at a nearby private hospital where you will have the mammogram and it will be reported on by a experienced radiologist. This is digital mammography and as such you keep the images on a disc for comparison purposes with future mammograms. If you have had previous mammograms and you have the results, please take them with you when you go for your mammogram.
- Menopausal Blood Profile (£90) for women aged over 45. This is a blood test that can identify when you have entered the menopause.
- Osteoporosis Profile for women aged over 45. This consists of a blood test which examines parameters relating to the health and density of the bones (£100) as well as referral to a private hospital for Bone Density Scanning (£155 paid directly to the hospital).
Optional additions (at extra cost) for men include:
- Choice of two sexual health screens. Profile 1 (£90) includes tests for Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and Syphilis. Profile 2 (£130) includes all the tests in Profile 1 plus tests for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Herpes.
- Testicular tumour profile (£80). Testicular tumours are the most common tumours in males between the ages of 20 and 40, affecting 2 to 10 males per 100000 per year. This profile is a blood test that detects any levels of the tumour markers most commonly associated with testicular malignancies.
- Testicular ultrasound (£115).
- Male pelvic scan for men aged over 40 (£95). This is an ultrasound scan of the bladder and prostate.
